Qualified with the National College for Hypnosis and Psychotherapy; which is one of the founding bodies of the United Kingdom for Psychotherapy, Grahame first started practice in Manchester before relocating to Spain. He has worked on the Costa Blanca for over 11 years and during that time has treated over 800 clients. Regarded as the foremost Psychotherapist on the Costa Blanca, he has written over 400 articles on the subject of Psychotherapy and has trained many psychotherapists in conjunction with UK colleges.
His training and development has continued with the National College and he has carried out further training in Ethics, Psychopathology and Research Methodology. Due to his standing, he has been asked to produce reports on various clients by courts. As a result, he has produced reports for the Australian government and for courts in the UK. He has also acted as an expert witness in the courts in Spain.
Prior to his career in Psychotherapy, he was a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (now retired) and has a master's degree from Salford University.
His style is very broad based, calling on such practices as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and the teachings of Carl Jung. In addition, where it is appropriate, he uses hypnosis to assist in treatment. He using a permissive rather than directive style and all sessions are relaxed and, of course, confidential.
Contrary to expectation, due to his techniques, most therapy can achieve the desired goals within a relatively short period. Most clients complete their treatment within approximately eight sessions.
